Big Tree Park + My Favorites
This land was dedicated to the township of Sanford by President Coolidge in 1929. The serene landscape of the park provides a natural getaway within town limits. The park is also home to a tree, nick-named The Senator, that is over 3,500 years old. It is a bald cypress tree, and is one of the oldest trees in the United States. This large 60 acre park is home to recreational activities that include boating, fishing, and tennis. Visitors can also go swimming in the 28 acre lake.
